Reflection on progress

Since the start of the A2 course of media studies, I personally believe that my work ethic and enthusiasm for this particular course has not been up to par with the AS course I previously passed;the course where we were asked to record a film opening. This is because I am finding the topic less interesting than the last topic in AS, I am struggling to work with a new group and to be quite frank I am uncertain about some of the tasks that are allocated. Also I was finding it difficult to generate potential ideas for our music video, this is because I was unfamiliar with the song and the type of genre so I didn't know the particular conventions that the electronic R'n'B displayed in their videos. But after I finished watching several videos similar to Attracting flies and listening to songs that held similar meaning to the lyrics, I was able to create ideas that would illustrate the meaning of the lyrics. Since the change in the song choice, my group and I have been facing difficulties when planning the new video because the lack of the communication and understanding between us but in the last week we were able to address the problems that we had and compromise. Though we were unable to film during the half term, I believe that when we resume college we will have an organised set of tasks for each group member to do. Overall I believe my progression in this course had been steady and slowly progressive, I believe it will continue to improve in time with the right state of mind and enthusiasm.
