Final Product

This is the final design for my digipak. I used adobe photoshop to add filter to the image and also I used this software to add the diamond effect on the edges of the album. For this task, I had to create a front and inside cover.

Reflecting on the digipak i made last summer.

This is the front and back cover i created for my digipak. From looking at this digipak and then comparing to the one i made for my a2 project i am pleased with the one i created throughout this coursework as i spent more time on it and made sure i followed the Do's and Don'ts of creating a good digipak. For the one i created last summer i didn't spend a lot of time on it and made a lot of errors for example the effect/filter used on the main artists is not acceptable as on every digipak the main artist should be noticeable to the targeted audience. The font colour camouflages with the background colour so i could have used two different font colours as a maximum. So overall i am happy with the digipak i made a long with the advert i created.

Magazine ideas

I dont have a concrete magazine advert idea although I'm planning to heavily correlate back to the digipak. I'm not sure whether or not I will have the magazine advert pre album release as a build up for the album or post album release to promote album sales, but I am leaning to a post release magazine advert. Some qualities I will certainly be doing are:

  • Artist the focal point
  • Naming the biggest features from the album
  • Reviews

I'm unsure whether or not I'll try to incorporate the themes of diamonds as heavily as I did on the album cover and the inside of the album cover. I'm thinking of giving the magazine cover a minimalistic   theme but I think that will heavily contrast against the impression I've given the artist as a grandiose, flashy, person at the top of her industry. I'm also thinking of how the audience who our artist appeals to the most (The Aspirers) would be drawn in to by a magazine advert.

Draft Advertisement

This is a draft version of the advert i will create. i will make sure the advert includes important information such as an image of the main artist, the official website and logos e.g. blackberry barcode scanner. I will also make it look more vibrant and will make sure it stands out so the advert is recognisable to the audience.

Photo of the main artist.

This is a picture of the main artist 'Desiree Diamond'. I have chosen this image to display on the front cover of my digipak because it brings out the artists personality and creates a strong representation of independent women. She is purposely positioned in the centre so the audience can focus on her. The costume in this picture i would say is quite strong as the clothing is casual but does stand out against the setting.
